The link below is the interbiew of tsugaru-jamisen player, michi hiro sato.
To read this article, I think about music and tsugaru-shamisen deeply again. I felt "music should be appealing" from his performance, because when he finished playing shamisen, he was sweating all over. A friend of mine I went there with ask him encore to listen to his tsugaru-ondo, with saying "shamisen is crying" 津軽三味線ブーム創世記から活躍し続ける、津軽三味線の歴史を 体感した氏ならではの視点に、 「音楽とは何か」 と考えさせられる文章でした。 I think tsugaru-shamisen's minyo(traditonal folk song)is rather for acocompaniment than music which we can express ourselves and Kyokubiki is originaly for showing the technique. Especially dynamics(folte or piano of the sound) which is required for music, is hard to express by tsugaru-shamisen. So I've wondering if koto should be better for music, so I feel nearly knowing what to do. But,,, He said in his interview "Tsugaru-jamisen player come to see his or her example, not to enjoy music." ,,, Certainly.
