I went to tea ceremony training yesterday.
I removed charcoal for the first time
because there are small number of people.
The photo is Junoh which is used when we move charcoal.
I remember English words or tea ceremony words easily,
but it's often hard to recall Japanese instead..
The grand master system called Iemoto-sei was introduced into tea ceremony
world about 200 years ago(Bunka-bunsei era)
Japanese often have the image of tea ceremony as the female training.
But the founder of the present tea ceremony style, Sen-no-rikyu
or Oda Nobunaga, or Toyotomi hideyoshi are all male.
Only man do the tea ceremony in ancient times,
but it changed into traing for married life since Meiji Era.
I usually think about history just like that,
I often neglect Otemae,or making tea procedure.
The end of procedure, we say "omedaruu gozaimashita"
which means "Sorry for bad manner".
My teacher always say "You did really bad manner"..
